Today, Microsoft announced a plan to help 50,000 people impacted by the massive job layoffs due to the Covid-19 transition into technology jobs.

Microsoft is using the LinkedIn platform to provide free digital technology courses to help thousands of people gain technical skills to re-enter the job market.

The jobs will be in what Microsoft calls its “ecosystem” of companies that use or help sell its products.

The partnership was developed last year when the big Covid-19 layoffs hit the service working industry harder than jobs with the ability to work from home and the technology workforce.

The initiative started with a focus on people in the United States but will expand to other countries next year. LinkedIn states the courses will be free until the end of 2021. The goal is to place 50,000 people in technology jobs within the next three years.

This is a great opportunity for so many people. FREE digital technology courses help job-seekers add additional qualifications to their resumes, which will make them more employable. There has been an increased demand for candidates in the technology industry since the pandemic hit. It is a great time to learn technical skills to be more competitive in the job market.
